Black Watch Tartan

The black watch tartan is amongst the most classic forms of designs available for Scottish tartans and is known for its unique color combination. This dark green and blue combination of the tartan has been inspired by some of the oldest regiments in the country. The color dark blue and green provides a rich hue to the superior quality tartan and is ideal for making kilts along with golf pants for the winters.

Some of the most commonly available categories for these tartans include modern, antique, ancient, muted and weathered. Even though the word tartan has been largely used by the Scottish, it had been most probably derived from the French word ‘tiretaine’. This word has been used since ages for defining a type of patterned and woven material. Some of the earliest Scottish tartans had been made of un-dyed wool. This tartan had been made using the natural white and brown colored wool, which had been derived from the sheep of the time.

This tartan may be use some of the most antique designs but the black watch has been known for its unique style and fashion statement, which remains evergreen over the centuries, and is still used in the fashion world.
